Let’s here it for the girls!

And a special shout out to my own team of fabulously talented young woman who work so hard to make this line what it is. Give it up for the Gift Wrap Girls!
In honor of this day Racked National has pulled together a list of groundbreaking woman in fashion which is definitely worth the read.
If you don’t subscribe to Racked I highly recommend it. It’s a daily dose of fashion fun.
Rock on sistas!
Golden Globes 2013
So, not sure if everyone saw the Golden Globe Awards last night, I actually watched the New England Patriots game of course (go Pats!!!), but I did record the Golden Globes and can’t wait to see who wore what…
From what I have seen so far, here are a few trends that really struck me right away…
handmade halloween
I was out last weekend in a cute craft store called Farmstead in Warren, RI. And I couldn’t help snapping some pics of these adorable handmade decorations.
I love that so much was handmade, and one of a kind, the place smelled of cinnamon and spice -and they were having an open house with cider, beer, wine and goodies!
Everywhere you looked were cute displays like this one.
When you are done shopping they wrap your package up in a sweet bag with the tissue fluffed up just right. What more could you ask for?
I am definitely feeling the halloween spirit now. Thanks Farmstead!

Back to School Supplies
This week I happened to wander into Staples in the misdt of Back-to-School Shopping mayhem. While I was cursing my timing and waiting in a line that wrapped around the store, I was annoyed but at the same time kinda nostalgic. I remembered the thrill of getting new school supplies: that new-plastic smell of a Trapper Keeper, lined notebooks with plenty of blank ruled pages, a fresh box of crayons with nicely sharpened tips…But then I snapped out of it and remembered how lucky I am not to have to take Algebra ever again!
For those of us who no longer need a supply of No. 2 pencils, here’s something fresh for Back-to-School Season:
Dalton Ghetti is a Brazillian born, self-taught artist and carpenter by trade, living in Connecticut. He gives a whole new meaning to pencil sharpening. Postcards & Prints of these miniature sculptures are sold on his website, check it out!
Ahead of her time.
I came across this picture the other day, not even sure where it was (sorry to cheat anyone of their props) but it just blew me away.
Everything about this picture is just fantastic- the woman, the man, the photography, the colors….OMG! So modern, yet it is over 50 years old. Just had to share!
ice, ice, baby
Now that summer is officially here, I have been enjoying being outdoors so much! I love being at a backyard pool party or the beach on a hot day, and I love enjoying a cold beverage while I’m there. I noticed so many fun options for ice out there, I wanted to share some with you:
local art festival
I recently had the pleasure of “dragging” my family to a local art festival, http://festivalfete.com/.
It was such a great day out, and this place was jam packed with talented artists, and I was drooling over everything as usual…
I loved that they had entertainment for the kids too, otherwise this would never have happened at all for me! They had awesome food and drinks, and a live band.
Here is my son putting on a brave face with the tall man:
One of my favorite booths here was purplebeanbindery.com, they had the most amazing handmade cloth journals

another great booth was from Kristen Cole at “Its sew you”, I obviously did not get enough pictures of all her cute things so you will have to trust me on this and go to her etsy site: itssewyou8.etsy.com

these acrylic painting/collages were amazing as well, the artist is Samantha Pidel, and her site is beautifullittlethings.com
(also I love how they are displayed on old doors, brilliant!)

These are my precious children about the make some crazy hats at the “recycled” hat making station, the hats came out adorable, but then were left behind at the dance recital we went to afterwards…so sad we can’t keep nice things
And then here are some more random pics of things I really really wanted, in no particular order, OK, maybe the mermaid first
Sorry Hipsters!
By random chance I stumbled upon this hilarious blog dads are the original hipsters and decided it to be a timely thing to share with Dad’s Day coming soon. This fun blog of hysterical submitted photos of- yup you guessed it- Dad’s being cool when cool was uncool! Soon to be a book of the same name, this blog is the brain child of Brad Getty and we can only guess who is the source of his inspiration!
Holy Guacamole!

I made a batch of my simple, yet delicious guacamole a while back when we had a little office pre-wedding celebration for Aimee. Everyone enjoyed it and I was asked to share the recipe. So here goes…
