The Gift Wrap Girls go to NYC
Every year the gift wrap girls travel to NYC to help set up The Gift Wrap Company Booth at the National Stationary Show, along with the sales team. With a lot of hard work and planning, it comes together in a great display of all our products. Here are some behind the scenes pictures of our set up. If you are in New York City May 19-22, Please stop by the Javits Center, Booth # 2920 to say hello and see how our booth turned out
It’s (almost) Show time!
The new year is almost here and those in this biz know what that means.. SHOW TIME! If your heading out to check it all out please be sure to stop by and have a visit.
One of our friendly and helpful sales reps would love to give you a full tour of the 2013 line.
It’s worth the look. I promise!
Now Ain’t that special!
As Aimee posted last week, it has been a time of purge here in the studio! But what to do with all this stuff! It’s great stuff. We can’t just throw it out!
No, we take great pride in donating it to worthy causes. One of our favorite annual donatees is The Special Olympics.
6 summers ago a great young high school girl worked with us. Alison has a cousin who is a Special Olympics Athlete and she hooked us up with her aunt who does an amazing job fundraising for the organization.
Well, here it has been 6 years, that young high school girl has gone through grad school, and we still give a ring to Aunt Ginny each year to help her with her fundraising efforts. It’s a bit heartwarming to think Team Gift Wrap does a little good for another amazing team.
Yup, that brings home the gold, silver and bronze!
Room to Grow
We recently performed the dreaded task of the annual “inventory purge”. Which happens not exactly annually, but when we run out of room for sample storage and we have to somehow get rid of past season product before boxes of gift bags and record books crush us to death. We were lucky this year donate our baby themed products to find a wonderful, worthy charity, right here in Boston!
Room To Grow is a organization that assists local babies and parents by providing education & support along with the all the necessities and niceties it takes to make a happy healthy youngster.
“The mission of Room to Grow is to enrich the lives of babies born into poverty throughout their critical first three years of development”- roomtogrow.org
To Elizabeth Chernack and all the good people at Room to Grow, keep up the good work! To all the new moms, dads and babies out there, enjoy our products, they were designed with love and are now happy to be a part of your lives!
techno graveyard
A brand new computer, monitor or techno gadget is a thing of pure joy. It cost more then a small village, but you love it, brag about it and marvel at how awesome it is and you are for having it!
¡ FLASH FORWARD !
A few years goes by ( and often not that long) and your once shiny new toy is no longer upgradeable thus no longer compatible with anything, has battle scars from drops on the sidewalk, coffee spilled in the keyboard, cracks from your dog stepping on it, sand, dirt and unrecognizable debris embedded in the crevasses, and maybe some water spots from a late night drop in the toilet. Yes your gadget which was once a source of great pride is now an axe of shame you use with hate and loathing. Time to upgrade!
But what do you do with the old stuff? Its an eco nightmare!
If you are like us you stick in a corner and swear on one of those town recycling days you will lug it down. Thus was our story. For a couple years now a pile of e-waste has been piling up in our garage creating a techno graveyard. Finally we made the call. Called out one of those services that haul it away. What showed up on that 97 degree Wednesday afternoon was a modern day Fred Sanford. An old truck loaded to the hills with useless e-crap! As we watched in horror as once beloved computers, scanners, and monitors were thrown ( literally) into this mountain of past hipness.
Although we have come to terms with their passing, and are psyched to have the space back, we say rest in peace old friends! We will cherish the memories.
the shoot is on!
Just a little studio happenin’ for today.
We have now gotten our ED 2013 photo shoot into full swing! So it is mock-ups galor around here.
Unfortunately it is also hot as h@** and there is very little air in the shoot area. The poor photogs are about to melt! But they are exceptionally good sports about it. Thumbs up for Charlie and Brian from Cutlip Photography!
Here is a little sneaky peeky behind the sets.. enjoy!
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks and the release of our 2013 range due out mid December!

NSS: The AfterShock Vol1
Well it has been an whole week since being back from NSS and I still can’t catch up. Been wanting to share some of the fabulous picts of the booth- but as I sit down here and look at all the shots I have gathered I just can’t decide which are the best. Everyone took fantastic photos. So I decided maybe this is all just too much for one post. So thus we begin on our “Booth Bonanza”. Todays installment will be the time line of events as only those who have lived through the trade show love-hate relationship can truly appreciate!
