Think Pink: Flirty at Thirty

By julie September 16, 2011.

One of my friends, Kristen, recently turned the big 3-0 and I wanted to share some great party ideas that her friends and I used to make her surprise party a hit! The theme was pink, in case you couldn't tell, and we tried to incorporate the color into everything we did, pink cake, pink drinks, pink flowers, pink decos. An easy thing to do is wrap mason jars in a ribbon that fits your theme, fill the mason jars with a candle or use them to hold straws, swizzle sticks, cutlery, etc. For favors, we ordered custom fortune cookies and put them inside pink chevron (so trendy right now) striped bags. Pink and white striped straws were used to sip the delightfully pink watermelon sangria and you simply must decorate your fancy cocktail with a home made swizzle stick. Simply buy some wooden sticks a bit longer than the depth of your party cups and loop your favorite ribbon through! We have some new printed ribbons for 2012 that are so cute! Stripes, polka dots, gingham and the best and brightest solids! Endless options to compliment your party. No party is complete without tissue paper pom-poms, Aimee had made a few for our photo shoot and I thought they were a perfect idea! See below for a link to directions. I used a variety of The Gift Wrap Company colors, Pink, Magenta Boysenberry and White to create exploding pink flowers to decorate the stair case. Happy Birthday Kristen and a huge thanks to everyone who helped make this party fabulous! xoxo
